The Science Behind CBD Understanding Nature’s Miracle

Lets get into the science

The Science Behind CBD Understanding Nature’s Miracle, Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike its famous counterpart, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t get you “high.” But what it lacks in psych activity, it makes up for in a myriad of potential health benefits.

In Recent Years

In recent years, scientific interest in CBD has skyrocketed. Research indicates that CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), a complex network of receptors and neurotransmitters that plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis. This interaction is believed to be the key to CBD’s therapeutic effects.

How CBD Can Support Your Health & Wellness

CBD has been the subject of extensive research and has shown promise in various areas:

  1. Pain Management: Studies suggest that CBD can help manage chronic pain by reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.
  2. Anxiety and Depression: CBD’s potential to regulate mood and social behaviour makes it a compelling alternative for managing anxiety and depression.
  3. Sleep Quality: CBD may improve sleep by addressing the root causes of insomnia, such as stress or pain.
  4. Skin Health: With its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD is gaining popularity in skincare for treating conditions like acne and psoriasis.

It’s important to note that while the early signs are promising, more research is needed to fully understand the extent of CBD’s health benefits, The Science Behind CBD Understanding Nature’s Miracle.

Tips for Integrating CBD into Your Lifestyle

Incorporating CBD into your daily routine can be simple and enjoyable:

  1. Start Small: Begin with a low dose and gradually increase it until you find what works best for you.
  2. Choose the Right Product: From oils and capsules to edibles and topicals, there’s a variety of ways to use CBD. Consider your lifestyle and preferences when choosing a product.
  3. Consistency is Key: Regular use is crucial for experiencing the full benefits of CBD.
  4. Stay Informed: Keep abreast of the latest research and legal developments regarding CBD in the UK.

Does CBD work for Pain

DOES cbd work for Pain relief

Cannabidiol is a popular alternative compared to prescription pain relief (such as opioids). Especially, for people who have chronic pain and have become reliant upon those habit-forming medications.  Even though more research is required to verify the pain-relieving properties of CBD, it’s clear patients are benefiting from trying these CBD products.

why is cbd being chosen over pain meds

CBD is becoming a ‘quick-fix’ for many medical conditions and symptoms for anything from psoriasis to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Shinning Star

It seems to be becoming the medical industry’s shining star’.  Which has seen researchers jump at the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how this product is helping people.

There currently aren’t a lot of clinical trials about CBD for pain relief in humans. But preclinical tests are being carried out on animals, for example, animals with painful arthritis.   These studies have shown that CBD reduces pain and inflammation and has very few side effects.

how does it work

For thousands of years, people have been using CBD as a natural remedy for pain relief.  Still, the medical community have only recently begun studying its benefits and how it works in-depth.  CBD reacts with the endocannabinoid receptors in our brain and immune system (the tiny proteins attached to our cells).

These receptors receive chemical signals and respond by creating anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects that aid with the management of pain.  The current theory is that the endocannabinoid system has two cannabinoid receptors: CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are in the brain.  They are believed to be associated with cognitive actions including mood, memory, thinking and appetite.

CB1 and CB2 receptors

The CB2 receptors are found in the immune system and are responsible for how the body reacts to pain and inflammation.   THC attaches to the CB1 receptors (which explains why using THC rich Cannabis can affect behaviour and appetite).

In contrast, CBD creates a positive effect on the CB2 receptors whereby the body is enticed to generate more of its cannabinoids.  This is how CBD is believed to work, but more research is being carried out to ensure that this is entirely accurate.

what kind of pain can it help

It is said that CBD Oils and CBD-infused products can help with arthritis pain relief, symptoms surrounding cancer treatment and migraine pain relief.

For arthritis pain, it’s advised that a topical CBD-infused product is used and applied directly to the skin where the arthritis is causing pain.   So researchers have tried this method of treatment on rats with arthritis for four days and noticed a significant decrease in inflammation without any side effects. It does not take long to begin to work.

This test, so far, has only been carried out on animals, so more research needs to take place to see if it is as effective on humans.   However, with most topicals designed to help with arthritis pain, it’s a case of trying products to see if they work for you and whether you like the product. A guide to CBD topicals, balms and lotions coming soon.

The Research

There have been case studies that have shown people with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) trying CBD oil to help reduce the pain felt during muscle spasms.  Muscle spasms are one of the most common symptoms of MS and can cause extreme pain.   MS patients that have tried CBD oil have sometimes reported a reduction in the frequency of their spasms as well as pain relief.   But these results are modest and haven’t got scientific verification yet, we are mid-trials.

There have been reports that CBD has been helping cancer patients reduce the pain from their cancer treatments.  Research has also been carried out on animals to see whether CBD can shrink cancerous tumours, which was successful in some of these animals.   Still, there currently isn’t enough research to see this success with tumours in humans.

However, many researchers have begun to test how CBD can help ease the pain related to cancer treatment.

are there any CBD side effects

As with most medications, there are a few side effects that can occur in some people, but usually, most people tolerate CBD oil well.  The most popular side effects are believed to be tiredness, diarrhoea, lack of appetite and weight gain or weight loss.

Although there currently isn’t a lot of research and conclusive data to support CBD oil and CBD-infused products for pain relief.   It’s agreed that these products have a lot of potential.

There are several CBD products to try when it comes to managing pain, and it all depends on where the pain is.  For arthritis, we would recommend trying a minimum of 1000mg CBD Oil Oral Drops.  CBD works best as an anti-inflammatory, for pain relief, it is best combined with THC.

In contrast, CBD capsules and oils may be better for pain management related to cancer treatments.

Who is using CBD Oil?

People walking across the road

Who is using CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is legal in the UK provided that it has less than 0.2% THC content, as THC is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act. The psychoactive properties of THC saw Cannabis become illegal across the country which included the farming and production of Hemp derived products. Until recently when the government accepted that the Hemp plant within the Cannabis family is low in THC but high in CBD.

Legally approved

The government put rules in place to ensure that CBD is only extracted from an industrial-grade hemp strain that has been legally approved.

This is a rule that confuses some people who think that because CBD is now legal, they can grow their Cannabis plants to create CBD products.

It remains illegal to grow your cannabis plants in the UK, so CBD producers have to receive a licence from the UK Home Office to do so.

CBD oil is safe to use and doesn’t cause the high that THC is well known for. If the product has been tested by a third party and there is a full list of ingredients, then it’s widely considered to be safe.

CBD has very few potential side effects as generally most people tolerate it well and may only feel a slight change in appetite or tiredness.

The question is Who?

So, who’s using CBD and what are they using it for?

There is a high level of CBD use in the UK and it’s fair to say that CBD has gone mainstream. It’s believed that approximately 5 million people have tried CBD at least once in the past year.

There isn’t a specific demographic of CBD users. There’s a sizeable proportion of all age groups and social classes using CBD oil and infused products for a range of reasons.

Most of the people who are using CBD are using it for pain relief, but others use it for skin conditions, anxiety, depression, and even insomnia.

It’s believed that over 70% of UK CBD consumers are buying CBD capsules, oils and topicals for their therapeutic benefits and potential pain-relieving and medical properties.

This high number could be due to an increased number of people believing in herbal remedies over typical scientific medicines. This number also suggests that more research needs to take place so that these natural remedies can be used in the NHS and prescribed more often by GPs.

Pain relief is the biggest reason why most people try or frequently use CBD. It is often being used as a replacement for prescribed pain medicines like opioids that many people are wary of due to their highly addictive properties.

Many CBD converts have said that CBD has been as effective as prescribed painkillers, with the added benefit that CBD isn’t addictive.

How does CBD help arthritis?

Many CBD users are using CBD oil or CBD-infused products to help with pain caused by arthritis.

Although there isn’t much scientific backing to prove its pain-relieving properties on humans yet, there have been many animal studies which suggest that CBD has anti-inflammatory properties.

Having said this, there have been case studies in the media that have shown some people with arthritis who have tried CBD report a noticeable reduction in pain as well as a better sleep.

Arthritis is one of the main causes of chronic pain, which affects billions of people across the world. There are serval types of arthritis, but the main ones are Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Osteoarthritis (OA).

RA is an autoimmune disease whereby a person’s immune systems attack their joints which causes inflammation.

This commonly occurs in the hands and feet and results in painful and stiff joints. OA on the other hand is a degenerative disease that affects the cartilage and bones usually in the hips, knees and thumb joints, causing pain and stiffness.

So far, scientists have discovered that the topical application of CBD is the most beneficial way to relieve pain and inflammation caused by arthritis as it absorbs into the skin directly where the pain is.

There are many ways to take or use CBD such as ingesting the oil that then goes into your bloodstream, but it’s best to seek guidance from a CBD supplier about the best way to use CBD for the type of pain you have.

Can CBD help athletes improve their performance?

CBD shows promise in treating a wide number of medical conditions that often occur in athletes, including joint pain, inflammation and muscle soreness.

So, it isn’t a surprise that many athletes or athletic individuals are using CBD. Athletes put a lot of stress on their bodies which can cause negative effects as well as the obvious positives.

The non-psychoactive properties of CBD are very appealing to athletes as they are usually allowed to use this cannabis-derived product without testing positive in drug tests – however, this can still be controversial in some tests so it’s best to check first. Taking CBD shouldn’t cause a positive test for THC, especially when you use a CBD isolate.

To avoid being tested positive for THC, it’s best to buy CBD products from a reliable source that you can trust.

Make sure you do your research and read the product labels.

Athletes tend to choose CBD-derived products over anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen as it’s believed that over-the-counter drugs may increase the risk of developing serious health problems such as a stroke or heart attack.

Many athletes have said that CBD has reduced their use of NSAIDs for exercise-related pain and only causes them very minimal side effects (if any at all).

Anyone can use CBD for numerous reasons, generally, the most common reason why people use CBD is to treat pain, but it can be used for so many different things including insomnia and anxiety.

The people who tend to use these products the most (at the moment) are people with arthritis but as more and more research is carried out, there becomes more evidence to suggest new benefits of CBD.

Our conclusion

CBD Oil is great for everyone!

My Storey

Meet Mandy the heart behind Big Chief Hemp

Hello, I’m Mandy, the proud founder of Big Chief Hemp, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you

A journey from pain to purpose, all thanks to the miraculous benefits of Hemp and CBD products.

From Germany to England: A Childhood on the Move

Born amidst the enchanting tales of Hamelin, Germany, my childhood was a blend of adventures between England and Germany, thanks to my father’s military career.

My early exposure to judo, a discipline learned in the army barracks of Germany, unknowingly set the stage for a future medical challenge.

The Dandelion is the official flower of the military child

The Unseen Battle: Facing Early-Onset Arthritis at 28

Fast-forward to my 20s, life took a painful turn.

A diagnosis of Facet Joint Degeneration & Degenerative Disc Disease at a mere 28 years old catapulted me into a world of relentless pain and countless treatments, from steroid injections to physiotherapy—all with little relief.

A Breakthrough Amidst Despair: Discovering a Hidden Spinal Fracture

After years of battling undiagnosed agony, a hidden spinal fracture was discovered, validating my pain and leading to a double spinal fusion surgery.

This old injury, likely from my judo days, had silently been a source of my suffering.

A New Chapter: Embracing Change and Finding Strength

Navigating through the breakdown of my marriage, redundancy, and a gradual loss of physical mobility, I found strength in unexpected places.

Cognitive behavioural therapy and an online chatroom service became my solace, teaching me to embrace today and dream of a brighter tomorrow.

‘Glorify who you are today, do not condemn who you were yesterday, and dream of who you can be tomorrow’ – Neale Donald Walsch

The Gift of Nature: How CBD Transformed My Life

In my quest for pain relief, I stumbled upon the potential wellness benefits of Hemp and CBD oil.

After experiencing firsthand the positive impact of CBD, a new mission was born: to make CBD oil accessible to all.

Cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant, has been spotlighted for its potential anti-inflammatory properties, which can play a pivotal role in pain management.

The anti-inflammatory effects of CBD are primarily attributed to its interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), specifically the CB2 receptors, which are predominantly found in the immune system.

CBD Facts and Info

BCH CBD on a bed on hemp leaves

what is CBD

CBD Facts and Info, let’s look at what CBD is?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring substance from a Hemp plant. Within this fascinating plant, there are just over a hundred compounds, of which CBD is one. CBD is extracted from the plant.

Psychoactive

Psychoactive is a medical term for something that affects your mind/psyche, mind-altering, in this case, ‘Being High’ your mental state is affected with a buzz, a high.

Non-psychoactive is the term for precisely the opposite, not mind-altering – does not get you ‘high.’ affecting your psyche

THC, on the other hand, is Psychoactive, one of the mind-altering Cannabinoids. The psychoactive element of the Cannabis/Marijuana plant.

CBD is the Cannabinoid being non-psychoactive

WHAT are terpenes

Terpenes are the little gems that provide the Cannabis smells and tastes; each variety plant has different terpenes, producing distinctive aromas, and fruity or earthy tones.

Just as the aroma in food adds to the taste, Terpenes’ aroma adds to the benefits of taking Cbd.

The gift that keeps on giving. Terpenes enhance the benefits of CBD, with their array of elements, it could transpire these elements carry similar benefits to CBD.

Sadly, some Terpenes are unavoidably lost during the process of extraction. Due to the drying process of the buds for the C02 removal, some of the Terpenes do not survive.

Terpenes are delicate, many of them are removed, before the cleaning process of the CBD extraction and added back to CBD Oils once they have been cleaned and cooled.

Terpene Oil can be purchased, giving you the smell and tastes of the plant without the CBD or THC. To use in cooking or smoking, create your Vape Oils or Vape Juices.

thc vs cbd

The significant elements of the Hemp Plant are named Trichomes; tiny sticky glands; these glands hold all the active medical ingredients called PhytoCannabinoids. Cannabinoids, for short. THC and CBD are Cannabinoids.

CBD is just one of the many magical elements of the Cannabis Plant.

CBD initially won as the front runner as it was believed to contain the most benefits. Below is a shortlist of some of the other Cannabinoids that work their magic alongside CBD & THC:

CBDP – Cannabidiphorol

CBG – Cannabigerol

CBC – Cannabichromenic

CBDA – Cannabidiolic acid

CBDB – Cannabidiphorol

CBD – Cannabidiol

CBN – Cannabinol

CBGA – Cannabigerolic

The plant is currently being researched globally, it’s an exciting time.  This family of Cannabinoids are believed to be beneficial in many ways.

THC using is full name Tetrahydrocannabinol, also has more than one variety just like CBD.  THC is believed to have enormous benefits. In medical-grade Prescription medicines, for instance for Epilepsy treatments, THC is required in addition to the CBD Cannabinoids, to support illnesses long term.

Big Chief Hemp Oils contain less than 0.0005% THC, a value considered untraceable and THC Free.

the cbd clinic

The Medical Cannabis Clinic, in London

Although CBD was legalised in the UK in 2018, we are currently faced with GPs reluctant to prescribe CBD to patients that require assistance where traditional medicines are failing.

For patients that require Medical Grade Cannabis, this process is currently unlicensed, therefore can only be prescribed by a specialist or a GP acting under the instructions of a specialist.

A new Private Clinic has opened to assist with Private Prescriptions for Medical Cannabis.

The Clinical Director is Professor Mike Barnes, who is a consultant neurologist, who assisted in securing the first medicinal cannabis licence for Alfie Dingley.

Professor Barnes said: “This Clinic will represent a lifeline to the thousands of patients who have found other treatments ineffective.

The Clinic is offering “potentially life-changing” treatment for arthritis, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It may also benefit people with psychiatric conditions

and stroke patients”.

Currently, there are more than 150 people are said to be on the Clinics waiting list.

The Clinic has specialists able to prescribe Cannabinoid treatments privately where the NHS are unsure.

” Professor David Nutt, of Imperial College London, stated that “ignorance” of the value of cannabis medicines among doctors was holding back their use.

Medical Cannabis was legalised in the UK last year but currently, Families say it is almost impossible to access it on the NHS, despite its legalisation.

Cases such as those of Billy Caldwell, 13, and Alfie Dingley, seven, have highlighted the benefits of cannabis oil to children with epilepsy who suffer multiple seizures and have begun to enjoy significant reductions in their symptoms

everything you wanted to know about CBD

is cbd legal in the uk

Thankfully Yes, CBD is legal in the UK and Europe, and CBD is classified as a food supplement.

the ECS system

It was discovered in 1963 that mammals have an Endocannabinoid system (ECS). Throughout our nervous system, We have Cannabinoid receptors. Including our brain, Cannabinoid receptors are the most abundant receptors!

It was discovered by Raphael Mechoulam an Organic Chemist and Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, a professor of the University of Jerusalem. Further Studies by Dr Mechoulam and US researchers have realised an entire ECS system that works in harmony with the Hemp plant, truly a nature’s gift.

Studies are ongoing, and there is still much to learn. The Endocannabinoid system works as the body regulator.

If you are out of sorts,  CBD works with your ECS system.  CBD flicks on the neuro-receptors in your nervous system, including your brain and assists your immune system, like turning on light switches.

The ECS system sends out regulating signals throughout your body, re-balancing your Homeostasis – Illness can thrive if the body fails to produce sufficient endocannabinoids. Taking CBD plant extract can aid your body and mind to stay healthy.

mct carrier

Once you purchase your Oil, how does it arrive, and what is in it?

The CBD is added to an MCT carrier oil. For example, if you have 10% CBD in a 10ml bottle 90% of the remaining liquid is referred to as the Carrier Oil.

MCT means Medium-Chain Triglycerides.

These are edible oils extracted from seeds, such as Coconuts or the controversial Palm oil (deforestation) as a carrier oil in items such as massage oils or essential oils.  Used for a variety of reasons, the fat molecules of these oils are smaller, enabling improved absorption in your body, making it an excellent carrier.

Coconut oil is ideal as it has no strong taste and has a natural anti-fungal property.

the spectrums

Full Spectrum Oil is created from the whole plant has to offer, including flavonoids & terpenes; all the natural smells, colours and tastes of Hemp. Including lipids, giving you the full natural benefits of the Hemp Plant using a Co2 extraction process.

Full-Spectrum will also include trace elements of THC% less than 2%.

Enjoy all the Phytocannabinoids in Full-Spectrum.

Broad-spectrum CBD can be up to 80% pure, also called a THC-free distillate, with no trace elements of THC around 0.0005%.

A more refined version of full-spectrum CBD, Distillation is the extraction process used, whereby cannabinoids and terpenes are refined at a molecular level.

Broad-Spectrum is a better choice for people who want a cleaner CBD experience, with minimal impurities.  According to studies, the broad-spectrum distillate is less potent than its full-spectrum counterpart due to the lack of terpenes, flavonoids and lipid fats.

The distillate can be applied to an MCT Carrier Oil or foods and if so desired can have the terpenes added back to the mix.

The beauty of Broad-Spectrum is to enjoy the benefits of CBD without the flavonoids, removing the strong earthy tastes and smells, and giving your taste buds a more pleasant experience.

It’s easier to create a fabulous tasting CBD oil using distillates.

Crystallised Isolate, a concentrate of CBD, Can be 99% pure and is ground into a powder. Ensuring a zero level of THC.

It’s the purest form of CBD; the extraction process removes all other elements of the bud, removing the other Cannabinoids, Terpenes & Lipids.

Isolate can be applied to an MCT Carrier Oil, added to water or other liquids or foodstuffs (but this is not legal for sale in the UK).

The key to CBD is consistency. CBD is best taken every day, add it to your daily routine, and maintain your levels.  Depending on your desired product, begin by using a few sprays under the tongue if using the atomiser.

Two or three drops under the tongue two to three times a day if using a tincture.  One capsule two or three times a day and build up until you find your appropriate levels, not exceeding the maximum daily dosage

Do not exceed more than 70mg of CBD in 24 hours, unless otherwise directed by your Medical Professional

how much cbd to take

CBD works much like a vitamin pill, in that, as a food supplement, you are aiding your body to replace lost vitamins and boost your homeostasis. CBD is similar in supporting your Endocannabinoid system and stimulating those receptors to send out positive messages to the rest of your body.

Begin at a very low dosage no more than 10mg a day and increase a few days slowly apart. As there is no head effect, how will you know how much is enough?

People use CBD for a host of reasons, and everyone has different absorption rates. It’s up to you to establish what your levels are. Ask yourself the reason you want to take CBD? For a sense of well-being; it’s recommended to use just 10ml – 20ml a day or you may need a tad more.

We would suggest you begin low with 500mg in a 10ml bottle, twice daily, increasing to three times daily.

If you are recovering from an illness, it’s suggested you use more. Again, always build up your levels at a gentle pace.

There is a point at which you will plateau.

Say the day you increase and don’t feel any more benefit than the previous dosage. You found your level.

Your levels may change over time, depending on how you are feeling. You will get to establish those areas yourself.

To find my levels, I kept a diary and looking back could see the improvements over the weeks, until I arrived at my level.

There are many flavours you can try, mainly fruit flavours, and variations on menthol or chocolate flavours. As the market is growing, so is the choice. These are new and exciting times.

Please consult with your medical professional if you are taking other medications.

Do not exceed more than 70mg of CBD in 24 hours, unless otherwise directed by your Medical Professional.

CBD can inhibit the absorption of some medications. Cancer, liver and anti-seizure treatments

hemp milk

Hemp is one of the most versatile plants on the planet. Not only can we extract CBD from hemp. We can make anything from textiles to bio-diesels.  We can also make hemp milk! It’s rich in amino acids, with a slightly nutty taste. Unlike almond milk, you can add it to your tea and coffee.

We’ve created a two-minute film to show you how easy it is to make hemp milk.

is cbd addictive

In a word – NO!

The element of the Cannabis plant that can get you high is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and not CBD.

CBD is not psychoactive. UK regulations ensure all CBD products sold contain no more than 0.2% THC, a value that is considered untraceable

can i travel with cbd

Technically yes,

You can travel around Europe with CBD; however, I would NOT recommend travelling with CBD. Border controls are not yet equipped with full knowledge on the subject of CBD. As this product derives from a Cannabis family plant, it is still a grey area within Airports and Border controls.

As such currently it’s not recommended to travel abroad with CBD unless you have written permission from the current government of the country you intend to travel to.  In countries like the US it is legal, but only in individual States and often only with a prescription.

We would not recommend taking your CBD your CBD unless you have a Prescription.

It is early days for this product, and the knowledge has not yet reached everyone

well-being & health

We are not permitted by UK Law to Make any medical claims whatsoever. Due to studies not yet completed in the UK.  There have been many years of research and studies ongoing by Universities and institutions in Spain, Canada, the Netherlands and Israel.  These studies suggest CBD Oil and THC have beneficial uses.

Big Chief Hemp provides a Night-Time and Day range tailored to aid your well-being and a gentle night’s sleep.

the quality of your cbd

How do you know what you are buying and who you are buying from, how do you keep safe purchasing CBD?

There are many brands sold that do not contain the CBD as described or the products include could THC, but this is not on the label, it’s hard to know.  The best way to keep yourself safe is to use a company that is an ethical business, one willing to provide you with Independent laboratory results.  The lab results will confirm how much CBD you have in the bottle.

Some comprehensive reports will also provide further content information for the other Cannabinoids present.

Look carefully at the product labels and ensure they mention CBD content.  It’s good to know which MCT carrier is used, on an environmental, and ethical level, I’d steer clear of products using Palm Oil as the carrier.

Currently, Few regulations for the CBD Oil industry yet exist. We are instructed to ensure the CBD Oil used is THC free adhering to UK standards, and a recommended daily dosage but these are the only stipulations so far.

As a business, I hope we can get some correct categorisation and regulations in place soon to ensure the safety of CBD consumers.

milligrams vs percentages

On the market is a variety of percentages or grams of CBD, in a variety of bottle sizes. It can be a tad confusing initially.

1ml is equal to 1mg

When I was starting, I only purchased 10ml bottles of CBD to keep it simple.  A 10ml percentage and grams equate to the same thing. For example, if you buy 800mg = 8% CBD.

Big Chief has used milligrams to be clear about how much you are buying.

can your pets use cbd

Currently, In the UK, there is no company licenced to sell CBD for pets. If a company did exists only a Vet would be able to sell it to you under prescription.

The only arena in the UK that can refer to CBD as a medicine is the Veterinary world.

But let us look at the facts. CBD is good for your Endocannabinoid system. And anything with a spinal cord has an Endocannabinoid system. So logic dictates, that CBD is good for your pets. Cats, dogs or horses.

cbd & covid

Tests were carried out in a petri dish that returned favourable results.  In a Laboratory, CBD Oil managed to reduce the COVID infection by 50% demonstrating huge potential. This spurred on further trials.

It is very exciting to see the potential of this amazing discovery.

What is cbd?

CBD is extracted from the plant and blended with fine coconut oil, known as an MCT Carrier.

Extracting CBD from Hemp

The extraction process concentrates on the Hemp flowers for the Cannabinoids.

A variety of methods are used to extract CBD from the hemp plant.  The oldest form of extraction is the use of ethanol (simple alcohol).

Using high-proof alcohol, the CBD is drawn out of the plant with minimal damage.  By suspending them in a liquid it eliminates damage from oxidisation.

cultivation of hemp

Cultivation has minimal impact on the environment.  Hemp crops are naturally resistant to pests and therefore do not require pesticides.  As hemp grows it cleans the soil. It extracts soil contaminants and restores the topsoil.

In addition, it performs Carbon Sequestration. It cleans pollutants from our air.  Interestingly, hemp removes between 10-15 tonnes of atmospheric carbon per hectare.  This occurs in three months, making it much more effective than trees.

Furthermore, as this crop can grow four times a year, it results in a lot of cleaning. Simultaneously cleans the soil in which it grows.
